Sizing
F0W Gi Size: Height, Weight and Who It Fits
Updated
Short answer: F0W fits 152–160 cm (5'0"–5'3") and 52–65 kg (115–143 lb). It is the Women's Wide cut of F0: the women's cut with more room through the chest and hips.
Against a plain F0 it is +4 cm jacket chest, +2 cm trouser waist. Everything else is identical to F0: jacket wingspan, jacket length, trouser length.
F0W against its neighbours
| Size | Cut | Height | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| F0W | Women's Wide | 152–160 cm | 52–65 kg |
| F0 | Women's | 152–160 cm | 45–55 kg |
| F0L | Women's Long | 158–168 cm | 45–56 kg |
| F1W | Women's Wide | 158–166 cm | 60–72 kg |
How to know it's you
Same women's cut as F0, with room added through the chest and hips rather than length. If the jacket has pulled across the back or the trousers have been tight over the hips while the lengths were right, F0W is the one.
Is F0W you?
Two numbers and we’ll tell you straight, including when the answer is a different size.
The finished gi, measured flat
Wingspan is cuff to cuff, jacket length is collar to hem, chest is laid flat. These are the numbers the size is cut to, not an estimate from the chart.
| Measurement | F0W | F0 | F0L | F1W |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jacket wingspan | 136 cm | 136 cm | 142 cm | 142 cm |
| Jacket length | 63 cm | 63 cm | 66 cm | 66 cm |
| Jacket chest | 50 cm | 46 cm | 46 cm | 50 cm |
| Trouser length | 85 cm | 85 cm | 90 cm | 90 cm |
| Trouser waist | 50 cm | 48 cm | 48 cm | 52 cm |
If F0W is not quite it
F1W is the only step available in this cut. If the problem is that one half of you is a different size from the other, order it that way: a jacket in one size and trousers in another is a normal order here. It is the option we ship most after the plain A-sizes, which tells you how many people the standard grid does not fit.
And if no combination on the chart works, custom sizing is $189 and is cut to your measurements.
Is F0W IBJJF legal?
Size has nothing to do with legality, but fit does. The IBJJF measures sleeve and trouser length against your wrist and ankle with the arm extended, and a gi that is too short fails at weigh-in. The full requirements cover colour, fabric and the measurement rules.
