F1W Gi Size: Height, Weight and Who It Fits

Short answer: F1W fits 158–166 cm (5′2″–5′5″) and 60–72 kg (132–159 lb). It is the Women’s Wide cut of F1: the women’s cut with more room through the chest and hips.

Against a plain F1 it is +2 cm jacket chest, +2 cm trouser waist. Everything else is identical to F1: jacket wingspan, jacket length, trouser length.

Where these sizes start, stop and overlap. Bands that share a weight range but not a height range are the ones people get wrong.

How to know it's you

Same women’s cut as F1, with room added through the chest and hips rather than length. If the jacket has pulled across the back or the trousers have been tight over the hips while the lengths were right, F1W is the one.

If F1W is not quite it

Step down to F0W or up to F2W if the band is wrong on weight. If the problem is that one half of you is a different size from the other, order it that way: a jacket in one size and trousers in another is a normal order here. About one gi in ten we shipped between 31 July and 29 September 2026 went out that way, and the mixed-size gi guide shows how to pick the pair.

And if no combination on the chart works, custom sizing is $189 and is cut to your measurements.

Size has nothing to do with legality, but fit does. The IBJJF measures sleeve and trouser length against your wrist and ankle with the arm extended, and a gi that is too short fails at weigh-in. The full requirements cover colour, fabric and the measurement rules.
