Sizing
F1L Gi Size: Height, Weight and Who It Fits
Updated
Short answer: F1L fits 166–174 cm (5'5"–5'9") and 52–64 kg (115–141 lb). It is the Women's Long cut of F1: the women's cut with longer sleeves and longer trousers.
Against a plain F1 it is +4 cm jacket wingspan, +3 cm jacket length, +4 cm trouser length, +2 cm trouser waist. Everything else is identical to F1: jacket chest.

How to know it's you
Same women's cut as F1, with the sleeves and trousers let out. If the F chart has fitted you through the body but left your wrists and ankles exposed, F1L is the fix — and it is a stocked size, not a special order.
Is F1L you?
Two numbers and we’ll tell you straight, including when the answer is a different size.
The finished gi, measured flat
Wingspan is cuff to cuff, jacket length is collar to hem, chest is laid flat. These are the numbers the size is cut to, not an estimate from the chart.
| Measurement | F1L | F1 | F1W | F0L | F2L |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jacket wingspan | 146 cm | 142 cm | 142 cm | 142 cm | 156 cm |
| Jacket length | 69 cm | 66 cm | 66 cm | 66 cm | 72 cm |
| Jacket chest | 48 cm | 48 cm | 50 cm | 46 cm | 50 cm |
| Trouser length | 94 cm | 90 cm | 90 cm | 90 cm | 98 cm |
| Trouser waist | 52 cm | 50 cm | 52 cm | 48 cm | 52 cm |
If F1L is not quite it
Step down to F0L or up to F2L if the band is wrong on weight. If the problem is that one half of you is a different size from the other, order it that way: a jacket in one size and trousers in another is a normal order here. It is the option we ship most after the plain A-sizes, which tells you how many people the standard grid does not fit.
And if no combination on the chart works, custom sizing is $189 and is cut to your measurements.
Is F1L IBJJF legal?
Size has nothing to do with legality, but fit does. The IBJJF measures sleeve and trouser length against your wrist and ankle with the arm extended, and a gi that is too short fails at weigh-in. The full requirements cover colour, fabric and the measurement rules.
