Sizing
A2L Gi Size: Height, Weight and Who It Fits
Updated
Short answer: A2L fits 180–190 cm (5'11"–6'3") and 75–86 kg (165–190 lb). It is the Long cut of A2: the same body with longer sleeves and longer trousers.
Against a plain A2 it is +10 cm jacket wingspan, +4 cm jacket length, +6 cm trouser length. Everything else is identical to A2: jacket chest, trouser waist.

How to know it's you
If the jacket fitted your chest but the sleeves sat high on your forearm, and the trousers cleared your ankle bone, you sized correctly for your weight and incorrectly for your frame. That is what A2L fixes.
Is A2L you?
Two numbers and we’ll tell you straight, including when the answer is a different size.
The finished gi, measured flat
Wingspan is cuff to cuff, jacket length is collar to hem, chest is laid flat. These are the numbers the size is cut to, not an estimate from the chart.

If A2L is not quite it
Step down to A1L or up to A3L if the band is wrong on weight. If the problem is that one half of you is a different size from the other, order it that way: a jacket in one size and trousers in another is a normal order here. It is the option we ship most after the plain A-sizes, which tells you how many people the standard grid does not fit.
And if no combination on the chart works, custom sizing is $189 and is cut to your measurements.
Is A2L IBJJF legal?
Size has nothing to do with legality, but fit does. The IBJJF measures sleeve and trouser length against your wrist and ankle with the arm extended, and a gi that is too short fails at weigh-in. The full requirements cover colour, fabric and the measurement rules.
